Consultation Fees
Practitioners at Lakeside Rooms operate independently and set their own fees. Current practitioner consultation fee ranges at Lakeside Rooms are as follows:
Psychology:
Individual consultation fees range from $210.00 to $260.00 for a 50-60 minute treatment session for registered and clinical psychologists. Clients referred under Medicare’s Better Access initiative can be eligible for a Medicare rebate for up to 10 sessions in a calendar year.
Psychiatry:
Initial consultations: (60 minutes) $350.00.
Subsequent consultations: (60 minutes) $235.00, (30 minutes) $180.00. Clients with a valid GP or specialist referral can be eligible for a Medicare rebate.
Clients are required to pay the full fee upfront on the day of consultation. Clients can then either claim the Medicare rebate in rooms through Medicare Easyclaim, or can claim themselves directly from Medicare.
Lakeside Rooms practitioners fees for services are well within those recommended by the Australian Psychological Society (APS) National Schedule of Suggested Fees.

Cancellation and Non-Attendance Policy
You may cancel or reschedule your appointment at any time. However, if you cancel late or do not attend, cancellation fees will apply.
• Less than 48 hours’ notice: 50% of the appointment fee.
• Less than 24 hours’ notice or not attending your appointment: 100% of the appointment fee.
Important Notes
• These fees apply to therapy sessions only.
• For assessments, late cancellation or non-attendance fees will be charged at your treating practitioner’s hourly rate for the time reserved.
• Late cancellation and non-attendance fees are not eligible for Medicare or private health fund rebates.
• Third-party funders (including WorkCover and EAP providers) generally do not cover late cancellation or non-attendance fees. Where applicable, these fees remain the responsibility of the client.
• If you fail to cancel or attend your appointment, future appointments may also be cancelled.
This is a clinic-wide policy, but you may discuss individual circumstances with your treating practitioner. They may waive or adjust the fee at their discretion.
Late Cancellation Fees Explained: To keep our services accessible and efficient, we ask that you give as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This helps us offer your appointment to another client – many of whom are on a waiting list.
When an appointment is missed or changed without enough notice, another client misses out and your practitioner loses time and costs that can’t be recovered. Late cancellation fees help cover this impact and keep our service running smoothly for everyone.
For your convenience, we’ll also send you a reminder text 72 hours before your appointment.
